SANTA ANITA RACE 7 ANALYSIS FOR FRIDAY – 10/11/2019
RACE 7 – 6 FURLONGS CAL-BRED OPTIONAL CLAIMING 16K/N1X
5 – SATANTA (5/2)
6 – CLEM LABINE (3/1)
8 – ISHI (7/2)
7 – MINOSO (6/1)
1 – RICK’S DREAM (8/1)
3 – TIGER STRIKE (8/1)
5 – SATANTA is the Morning Line favorite even though he was stuck in fifth last time as was between 12 lengths in his first start vs. winners at 4-5. He was an impressive 5 length winner in his maiden debut, so he is getting the benefit of the doubt here. He drops from 20K/N1X to one rung lower on the class scale.
6 – CLEM LABINE finished third in front of the top horse last time and has finished in the money in all 5 lifetime starts. He too drops a notch.
8 – ISHI returned from a 20-month layoff for trainer Peter Miller to finish a decent and close third vs. 20K/N1X. Would seem to be owners saw a future for this gelding to bring him back to track.
1 – RICK’S DREAM was badly beaten by Clem Labine in a 20K/N1X race in July at Del Mar but has several good races at the 12K-20K claiming level. His lifetime record of 18-4-6-4 shows his propensity to hit the board and has finished in the money in 8 of last 9 starts.
