KEENELAND RACE 8 ANALYSIS FOR SUNDAY – 10/13/2019

      RACE 8 – 5 ½ (TURF) – ALW  80000 C

      1 – HOTSHOT ANNA (8/5)

      1A – AIKEN TO BE (8/5)

      3 – ROCKY POLICY (4/1)

      5 – MAY LILY (4/1)

      2 – TAKE THESE CHAINS (8/1)

      7 – LA DAME BLANCHE (8/1)

1 – HOTSHOT ANNA has won 7 of her last 8 races, 3 of them Graded stakes but all on synthetic. She did win vs. this kind of company 2 back at Arlington Park. She is on a roll, is always in a close-up contending position early is super tough in the stretch.

1A – AIKEN TO BE is no slouch with a turf and distance record of 14-4-5-2. She also owns a win at today’s distance and class at Arlington in her last race in September.

3 – ROCKY POLICY just won the $158k Turf Amazon at Parx. Those Parx turf sprints are always tough races so this one has a huge chance to repeat here. Her trainer R B Hess Jr has been a solid trainer for a long time and puts his horses where they can win. He just claimed her for $40,000 August first at Del Mar and immediately shipped her East and has already won a big stakes race with her.

5 – MAY LILY failed to raise a gallop in the 6 ½ Furlong G3 Ladies Sprint at Kentucky Downs last time vs. Morticia and Oleksandra but won a 100k prep race at today’s distance at Ellis Park in her prior start. She rounds out the main competition here and wouldn’t be surprised if she hits the board today maybe at an overlaid price.
