      KEENELAND RACE 7 ANALYSIS – WEDNESDAY 10/9/2019

      7th RACE – 1 1/16 (Turf) JESSAMINE (G2) $200,000

      5 – Jezebel’s Kitten (4/1)

      6 – Sweet Melania (9/2)

      4 – Indochine (5/1)

      9 – Diamond Sparkles (6/1)

      11 – Swanage (8/1)

Jezebel’s Kitten was most impressive winning the $494k Juvenile Fillies at one mile on turf at the recent Kentucky Downs meeting. Undefeated in 2 starts and showed a new dimension being able to rate and explode at the top of the stretch. Brad Cox is a 27% trainer with excellent training percentages in all pertinent categories. The winner of the Juvenile at Kentucky Downs, Peace Achieved, won the G3 Bourbon over the weekend paying $19.80 for trainer Mark Casse.

Sweet Melania ran to good to lose the 100k PG Johnson at Saratoga at today’s distance for Pletcher last out. Stalked from 6th, took a clear lead turning for home and just got nailed by the well-regarded Crystalle

Diamond Sparkles was a close 4th in the G1 Natalma at Woodbine last time coming from a close-up 7th early on. Mark Casse, whose barn has been on fire this year, won the Bourbon over the weekend with Peace Achieved, who won the $500K Juvenile at Kentucky Downs.

Indochine and Swanage both come off maiden wins and step up into stakes for excellent trainers Chad Brown and Mike Maker. 2-year-olds can improve rapidly for good trainers.
