BELMONT PARK KEY RACE ANALYSIS FOR SATURDAY – 10/19/2019
RACE 6 – 6 ½ FURLONGS – THE HUDSON HANDICAP $150,000
1 – BUILD TO SUIT (2/1) missed by a nose in the 100k Morrisey in her previous and crossed the finish line first in 6 of 9 career starts. Has never finished off the board. Chad Brown again.
3 – CELTIC CHAOS (5/2) – won the 100k Morrisey over the top horse last time. Has won 5 times at the distance and hit the board 10 times. Sharp right now.
RACE 7 – 6 ½ FURLONGS – IROQUOIS STAKES S150,000
7 – SATISFY (3/1) was off 10 months before an OK fifth last time in open company. Should be ready to go today and only missed by a neck when second in last year’s running of this race. Has lifetime record of 8-5-2-0.
1 – HOLIDAY DISGUISE (7/2) finished second in the 100k Union Avenue last out Saratoga after winning the 97k Dancing Renee in her prior race. Also won the 106k Broadway in previous state-bred race. Eight lifetime career wins in 17 starts.
9 – CARRERA CAT (7/2) won the 100k Union Avenue winning pushing the pace from the start and positioning herself early over the top 2. Has won 5 of last 7 starts.
RACE 9 – 1 1/16 MILES (INNER TURF) – TICONDEROGA STAKES S200,000
4 – FIFTY FIVE (6/5) is going for her third straight win in this race. Fresh from winning the $128k Hettinger for the second year in a row. In last 7 NY State-Breds stakes has won 5 and missed by a neck in the other 2. Lifetime turf record 21-10-4-5 and runs for that man Chad Brown, who seems to be winning everything in sight lately.
3 – WAR CANOE (6/1) just finished second behind the top horse in the Hettinger. Has a powerful late kick and in her last 7 has 2 wins and 3 narrowly beaten seconds.
7 – MUNCHKIN MONEY (6/1) was pulled up in the Hettinger after tossing her head at the gate. Throw that race out. Beaten a neck in the $150 Yaddo in August at Saratoga and was second behind the top horse in the Mount Vernon in May and the Hettinger in 2018.
RACE 10 – 1 MILE – EMPIRE DISTAFF HANDICAP $250,000
1 – NEWLY MINTED (5/2) won the 201k Fleet Indian at Saratoga last time, his first at a distance. Made it clear distance is no problem by winning by 9. This Linda Rice trainee has won 4 of 5 starts since April, all by big margins.
9 – MIDNIGHT DISGUISE (7/2) has won 5 of 12 starts and is 8 of 12 running first or second. Won twice in open company at Aqueduct in early 2018. In his 5 New York Bred Stakes she has 1 win, 3 seconds and 1 third. Won 5 of first 7 races but is winless in last 5 starts.
6 – OUT OF ORBIT (8/1) tried a New York state-bred stakes for the first time in her last 12 starts and went gate to wire to win the $100k Saratoga Dew at 1 1/8 miles at Saratoga. Will have to have his running shoes on again today with the top horse breathing down his neck.
