Live racing returns to Turf Paradise Nov. 11. Following successful track inspections conducted by the Horseracing Integrity and Safety Authority, the Arizona Racing Commission notified Turf Paradise that all live racing surfaces meet standards.
Following a meeting between Turf Paradise management and the Arizona Horsemen's Benevolent and Protective Association, the organizations announced in a joint statement Nov. 3. that live racing could begin Nov. 11.
Turf Paradise, which was scheduled to start its live meeting Nov. 2, has postponed racing after the Horseracing Integrity and Safety Authority recommended further work on the track surface before training or racing occurs.
HISA has recommended Turf Paradise and the Arizona Department of Gaming delay the start of the upcoming meet at Turf Paradise and cease training and racing until adjustments and preparations have been made and the main track has been retested.
