Scott Lishia, currently director of racing at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, has been named director of racing and sportsbook for Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course pending customary regulatory approvals.

Eric Johnston, director of racing & sportsbook for Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course since 2014, has announced his retirement, effective Aug. 30.

With significant, persistent rainfall in the local forecast for the next several days, the four turf stakes races carded for June 20 at Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course have been rescheduled for June 27.

Due to anticipated wet weather, the Penn Mile Stakes (G3T) and three other scheduled turf races, which were carded for May 30 at Penn National Race Course, have been postponed three weeks until June 20.

A veterinarian accused of conspiring with trainers at Hollywood Gaming at Penn National Race Course to administer injections at prohibited times accepted a lifetime suspension May 7 from the Horseracing Integrity and Safety Authority.

The Horseracing Integrity and Welfare Unit also posted suspensions and fines for Dr. Benjamin Bealmear for possessing a banned substance, and for trainer Darien Rodriguez, who got his third suspension and fine within the last two years.

The Horseracing Welfare and Integrity Unit has suspended three trainers and disqualified dozens of race results as part of its investigation into an alleged conspiracy at Penn National Race Course to inject horses too close to races and workouts.
