Fort Erie Race Track announced the upcoming 90th running of the Prince of Wales Stakes, second jewel of the Canadian Triple Crown, will take place Sept. 9.

Fort Erie Race Track closed it's 2024 season Oct. 23 with $42.5 million in total wagering, the second-highest amount in track history.

Fort Erie told Ontario horsemen this week that they risk losing stalls if any of the horses they had stabled at the Canadian track end up being shipped to race in Puerto Rico.

It was a barrier-breaking moment when Vitality bested a field of 10 to capture the 89th Prince of Wales Stakes at Fort Erie Sept. 10. The win sent trainer Harold Ladouceur into the history books.

Attard will send out Pierre, Jokestar, Ariosa, and Bedard in the 1 3/16-race on Fort Erie's main track. Casse is countering with 5-2 morning-line favorite Midnight Mascot, third in the King's Plate, and Essex Serpent.
