1, Clubhouse: Pletcher sends out this son of Speightstown whose been working out somewhat blandly. I will only watch him today.
1A, Bat Flip: No Bets if Off the Turf
2, Wico: Went off as the favorite in his last but failed to win. Needs to improve in his second lifetime start off the break. I would use him underneath
3, Alibi Ike: Another Ward trained runner starting in this race. His training sessions over the turf course isn’t impressive and perhaps a better start sees him move forward. In this short field I will use him in the trifecta
4, Alexis Zorba: Ships in from Ireland and raced well over a giving turf condition. If he adapts to American style of racing, he may contend for a top three finish
5, Dataman: He’s been training nicely topping most of the other morning runners. The Motion barn usually doesn’t have them ready to win in their first start. I, personally, like his breeding just enough to use him in the trifecta and lower
6, Appraise: Some decent workouts at Monmouth and the Chad Brown barn has a decent record with over half its runners hitting the board early in this meet. In this field of mostly untested runner there’s no reason to think he won’t hit the board
7, Inflation Nation: There’s not a lot to get excited about for him unless you are a Clement fan. Clement’s stats and his breeding says to use him in the gimmicks.
8, Gods Glory: This guy will have to surprise me

1, Indemnify: First time starter bows from the Chad Brown barn who does well with his first-time turf runner. Unless he proves to be a much better runner then he appears on paper I think he misses hitting the board.
1A, Growth Capital: He appears to get faster with each outing but fails to carry it to the wire. He’s failed as the race favorite in all his three starts. Brown seems to know when to remove blinkers and if this give Irad Ortiz a bit more control; I believe he’s the one to beat and hopefully not as the favorite.
2, Clubbing: Raced wide om a muddy surface in his first start ever. He should b=get better conditions to run today. He’s sort of in the d=same boat that 3, The Prince’s Spur is in. He should move forward as well if this stays on the grass but how much better will he be is the question.
3, The Prince’s Spur: Outperformed 1, Clubbing in their last while running close to the leaders. He failed to keep pace and held on for show. I believe he moves forward in his second start
4, Impulsiveness: He will have to get a lot better
5, Capital Velocity: His last two works were shar and he may like this distance which could off a more relaxed pace. He switches to grass and his seemingly lack of late speed should keep him off the board.
6, Oglethorpe: He finished comfortably ahead of two other runners in this race. He should be well rested off that outing and I hope he doesn’t bounce today. If he gets a better start and avoids traffic this low percentage barn has every chance to come out a winner

 .50 cent pick four 1A-6 / 1-5 -7/ 8 / 8Saratoga Clm 32000 1 Mile Friday, July 22, 2022 Race 3
1A, Mount Travers: He should struggle to do more than a superfecta run even against the field of plodders
1, Pioneer Spirit: Came up short off the layoff after stalking the pace. He takes a class drop and even in this group of slower runners will need to show more. If he can return to the sharper form he had at Aqueduct, he’s a contender to hit the board.
2, Hammerin Aamer: Tossed a clunker in his first race off the layoff and took a lot of money with him. Hs record at Saratoga is dismal with no wins in 8 tries. He raced with no pace and was beaten by several runners entered in this race. He missed the board be several lengths. This pace stalker has just enough late speed to remain in contention and if there is any improvement today this 4-year-old son of Orb could hit the board for Linda Rice.
3, Claytnthelionheart: His record at Saratoga is surprisingly good but since his starts at Churchill his efforts have been subpar. His form is improving and could surprise today but I can’t see his condition being sharp being enough to outrun most of these to get to the wire first.
4, Long Term Thinking: Soundly defeated versus cheaper a week ago here. I believe this level should be too tough for him. I doubt he wins and needs to improve to be a part of this.
5, Amount: Finished off the leaders after an even paced try in his last at Belmont and couldn’t keep up when the leader pulled away, No excuses for him in that race. Irad Ortiz returns who rode him to 3 of his 4 lifetime wins. His last work out over the Saratoga surface could indicate he’s ready to run, however I’m not sure which runner will show up. Ill use him just in case.
6, Lastchanceatglory: He will probably be on the lead or near to it when the gates pop open. The downside is the track bias favor closers, so he’ll probably get passed by in deep stretch since he has no late speed. On the plus side his barn wins at a 27% rate with runners off the claim, he’s cutting back in distance and the switch to Rosario who will dictate his finish. He can be used in the bottom of the gimmicks.
7, American Rule: Help set the pace in his last but was passed by a fast closing winner and most of the rest of the field. His early speed will need to be used wisely Luckily there is no runner entered with a ton of late speed. He may be able to outrun these to the wire. He’s an interesting entry in this race.$2.00 WPS 5

1, Awesome Ally Vee: Makes the switch to grass but shouldn’t have the speed to win.
2, Rhombique: Drops back down in class and this can allow her to vie for a superfecta finish with her best effort.
 3. Miss Bonnie T: She gets blinkers in her return to racing She could run well enough in her first start to finish in the money. She’s never won a race in 12 lifetime start and doesn’t look like she will win today.
4, Whiskey Lullaby: Raced evenly in her last start and managed to hit the board
5, Candlestick Maker: I think she can improve in her third lifetime start. She has no speed but with firmer turf conditions she may be able to finish in the superfecta if she gets lucky.
6, Regina:She will have to do better to be apart of this.
7, I’m Glad: She should be no threat to these.
8, Beachfront Bid: Big time money burner may have been able to win her last but got knocked around a few times in mid-stretch. I not sure if she would have caught the leader, but it cost her a chance to finish in the money. She had to be placed third after the objection. I think she can win today

1, Chess’s Dream: At this level he can be competitive. He’ll need to have others make pace mistakes to heighten his chance to win. I don’t look for him to win but I do expect him to be stronger in his second start off the layoff to compete for minor rewards.
1A, Voliero: He like this distance and own a decent record when running it. While he doesn’t perform well at this track and no late pace and even with the class break I’m still iffy on using him in the superfecta
2, Barnegat Light: If the runner I think will run as expected he will not win. Moves back to turf and was outrun at Woodbine. The turf efforts at Gulfstream are misleading since that turf produces faster times. He should struggle to hit the board today.
3, Spectatorless: He won’t be able to compete with these.
4, Bricco: His speed figures do not rate with the better runners entered but the final times of his events combined with the slightly shorter distance puts him in with a trifecta chance
5, Prayer Book: Moves up in class and probably won’t have to face a fast pace. He moves up in class and this should keep him off the board
6, Our Country: He gets a touch of class relief and owns a decent record racing at Saratoga, He doesn’t need a fast pace to run into so that can help him hit the board Prat returns so he may know him a little better. I don’t see a win from him today but can use him in exotic wagers.
7, Girl Dad: Rosario should hold him off the pace today to increase his chance to finish in the money. If he takes a move forward his chances to be involved in the gimmicks are good
8, Future Victory: He lost his last two start at Monmouth by narrow margins. I think he should be placed in a trip stalking position with his late speed. He runs with no blinkers in this start and if this gives Ortiz more control, he should be tough to beat. I’m putting my money on him.
9, Sonic Speed: He will need these to come back to him and if they don’t, he’s running for the trifecta at best
10, Gussy Mac: He isn’t a threat to win and was a defeated favorite against much softer at Delaware Park. He’s been facing some speedy rivals and while not winning usually finished within reach of the top three. He should be able to outrun enough of these to compete for an in the money.

1, Ria’s Angel: Drops down in class and will not win but can run for minor rewards with his best against this less they stellar field.
2, Southern Civility: Stretches out, drops in class, adding of blinkers but has declining speed figures. All these factors should still see him miss hitting the board.
3, Tuesday’s Child: It may not take much to win this race and he doesn’t have much. The bug will need to rate him to get him home first. A smart ride and not a fast one will win this race for him. He has every chance to win today.
4, Slow Decision: Moves over to dirt and this barn has a low win percentage doing so. He cuts back a notch and should improve a bit in his second lifetime start. Ortiz should pull some dollars his way Could press any runner on the lead and get past him for a chance to win.
5, Clingman: Has to get better to factor but two races back he may have been able to hit the board with that effort. Could be a superfecta runner today.
 6, Tyrannosaurus Rex: Nope
7, Makart: Showed some late speed in his last start at Belmont. Set down for the drive but seem to hang, he recovered to claim the place position. He was also bothered a few times early and with a cleaner run should hit the board
8, Lucky Mucho Man: Faced slow runners and raced evenly to garner a third-place finish. Only this group can offer him a chance to hit the board
9, Datesfreedom: Even at this level and group of so-so runners he will miss hitting the board if the race goes as I think it should.$2.00 WPS 3-4

1, Keepmeinmind: Former derby contender should be the over whelming favorite in this race, He’s been off for 10 months but has been training well. Pletcher wouldn’t have entered him today if he didn’t think his chances to win were right, He seems to have been spotted in an “easy” bunch.
2, Prince of Pharoahs: His lone attempt at this level didn’t fare well and he missed the board. He doesn’t have the late speed to keep up with this group.
3, Skylander: Makes the move over to dirt and Mott doesn’t do that great with the turf to dirt move. I think he struggles to hit the board today
4, Naval Aviator: I like his chances to factor if he can run about mid pack and make his move using his late run at the right time. It seems he will need dry track conditions to run his best. Both times he missed the board was over an off track.
5, Complete Agenda: Lost touch of the field as they entered the stretch n the G3 Peter Pan. He doesn’t run well enough to be a threat here,
6, Tiwanaku: Moves way up in class to try and beat tougher rivals. In his last he led the field gate to wire but at this distance that’s going to be a stretch. Amoss has a choice to make with him. Either go to the lead and hope the field lets him set the pace or track the pace and hope my projected winner 1, Keepmeinmind, comes up short off the long layoff. I can only hope he hits the board.
7, Efficiency: At this distance his best bet would be to come from off the pace and hope any runner in front of him comes back to him. Chad Brown will draw some betting dollars his way and I think he’s got the best chance to win if 1, Keepmeinmind doesn’t run well
8, Fighter in the Win: Missed a win in his last by ¾ of a length in his first start off the layoff. Overseas he performed decently running over all weather surfaces. He switches track surfaces again and this second Chad Brown entry will try to pick up a minor check.$2.00 WPS 1

1, Makin My Move: Cuts back and this distance may be too short for her as she moves up in class. I think her speed figures rate with the better runners in this race. Ortiz will need to rate her almost perfectly to give her a chance to cross under the wire first. I think she can win but will use her underneath.
2, Get the Candy: Will lead the way early and could last longer than expected with the turn back in distance. The Maker barn improves its runners slightly in the 3rd start off layoffs. If she can improve, she can grab some smaller purse money
3, Kokopelli: She’s training nicely and before the layoff showed the willingness to win. Now she returns after a year’s absence and there doesn’t seem to be a lot to beat so she can run for minor rewards if Clemente has her ready
4, Big Q: she should be at her best in her third start off the claim. Her speed may need to improve as she tries grass for the first time. She’s had difficulties at this level and I’m pretty sure she won’t win but can run for the trifecta with an honest effort.
5, Palace Gossip: There seems to be a possible speed duel in the making between her and 9, Quality Stones. This must be avoided if she wants to notch the win. In 6 turf starts she’s only missed the board once and that was over less then firm turf conditions. She’s a candidate to win but Prat must ride smartly.
6, Sassy Melissa: She’s run this distance well here about a year ago ending up and a win and show finish. She gets an in the money finish each time Ortiz is in the irons. If she comes off the freshening ready to run, she’s a big threat to win at this level
7, Byhubbyhellomoney: Returns to racing after a 4-month hiatus. Her barn hasn’t failed with the runners it sent out after 90+ days off, removing blinkers from its runners and switching from dirt to turf, Cancel hasn’t done much riding here but has a outside chance with her for the superfecta
8, Jill’s a Hot Mess: Raced well at the Spa last year for Linda Rice. Anytime she broke from post position 6 and out, she ran poorly. On the flip side she’s won both her outings here. I think she finds enough rivals that can run better than she can right now.
9, Quality Stones: Once the gates pop open she will be vying for the lead The weight allowance she gets under Gomez could help. She’s only had won turf start where she missed the board. To win I think she’ll have to go gate to wire and that could prove hard.
11, Itsakeyper: Doesn’t have the speed to keep pace especially from post position 10

1, Republique: Makes the switch to turf and stays in graded stakes company. If the ability she showed on the all-weather surface comes through on turf she may contend for smaller purse money.
2, Heavenly Hellos: Her lone start in a graded stakes she finished well off the leaders. Her lack of speed and the low percentage jockey and barn dictates I look else where for a winner.
3, Al Qahira: Stalked the pace and broke her maiden in her last start going longer at Churchill Downs. Never off the board in her three turf starts The Mott barns usually has its runner prepare to run well off breaks A smart ride from Jose Ortiz keeps her in the hunt for minor rewards.
4, Koala Princess: She hasn’t been entered in a race since running in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile fillies turf. If she’s prepared to run well of that 8-month rest, she could challenge for a top three finish
5, Dolce Zel: She has the graded stakes races experience but her final times in her races don’t look strong enough to put her on top
6, Eminent Victor: Shows good speed on turf and retains Prat. Took a bad step at the top of the stretch but held on to win the Wild Applause gamely after letting others cut the mile. It’s doubtful she gets the same splits in this race but this lightly raced filly could improve and if that occurs she will be tough to beat
7, Sister Lou Ann: Not enough speed to win.
8, Skims: She should be able to outrun the weaker ones entered today. If there is overnight rain and the turf is softer this can help her move forward to hit the board. She’ll need a lot of luck to win.
9, Spirit And Glory: She can show enough late speed to move into the superfecta if the pace suits her. If not, she misses the board.$2.00 WPS 6

1, Captivating Cara: She’s to slow to run for a top three finish unless the pace falls completely apart.
1A, Caramocha: She hasn’t raced since December of 2021 and her barn doesn’t prepare its runners well when coming off layoffs. The low percentage jock doesn’t help either.
2, Queen Arella: Ships in from Finger Lakes and shows speed, perhaps cheap speed, but shows speed nonetheless. This level should be enough to keep her off the board
2B, True Empress: She doesn’t have the speed to run for the win
3, Gringotts: She just ran with the pack in her last two starts with no forward movement. The reduced distance could help her move forward to vie for the lower half of the exotics. She’ll need to do more to be a bigger contend at this level.
4, Cinderella’s Cause: Ships in from Finger Lakes and may run better then she appears on paper. In the fall of 2021, she ran well at this distance. She wont win but could add value to the superfecta
5, Silver Fist: She’s not for me.
6, Fancy Feline: Adds blinkers today and perhaps her barn thinks she’s not focused while running. Ill see what they do for her.
7, Leeloo: She’ll be on the early lead but has a habit of good race/bad race. She doesn’t have the talent to win but could stick around for minor rewards.
8, Let Her Inspire U: She’s training well and jumps up in class. Velaquez will need to rate her just a bit to keep her chance to win good. If she improves in her second off the layoff could be a threat
9, Liberty Flame: Didn’t take to the grass in her last and her connections return her to dirt. She’s been working out nicely but this level could prove to much for her to win. Her speed figure my rebound with the return to dirt and can factor in the bottom of the gimmicks.
10, Ready A. P.: She shows adequate speed but must be taken off the early pace. Post position 11 may hurt her chances. If she’s allowed to go to the lead, she may not be able to take it the 6 furlongs. I don’t see many that can run past her to keep her off the board if she brings her best effort. Can surprise and win but best used underneath.
11, Hannah Dances: Comes off a 5-month layoff and her form shouldn’t be good enough to allow her to run with these.
12, Kiss Me Smile: Ran well versus cheaper and should be outrun today.$2.00 WPS 8

1, Ria’s Angel: Drops down in class and will not win but can run for minor rewards with his best against this less then stellar field.
